A client of ours is looking for Inspectors to join their Construction Services team who will play a key role in all aspects of construction administration, inspection and testing services for state (INDOT), county, and local Clients. You?ll be involved in the testing and inspection aspects of wide variety of construction projects including those in the roadway/bridge, water/wastewater, aviation, commercial, and municipal utility/infrastructure sectors. You?ll leverage your expertise in construction inspection and creative problem-solving skills while collaborating closely with institutions/municipal agencies. Additional Information:? This position will include primarily field work with some office work. ? This position works independently on broad projects under direction of a Dept. Manager.? Projects are typically in the greater Indianapolis area/Central Indiana region. Frequent travel within this region is expected.? A stipend for personal vehicle use or a company take-home vehicle will be provided, based on the assignment. INDOT and Indianapolis DPW large project experience is a strong plus.? Monitor and enforce quality standards and specifications.? Read project drawings, specifications, blueprints, and work on a variety of construction projects.? Perform construction administration and inspection services for state, county and local roadway and bridge projects and municipal utility or infrastructure projects. ? Inspect construction projects to ensure contractor compliance with state specifications, plans and/or proposals on roadway and bridge projects. ? Verify plan quantities and calculations are within bid plans.? Prepare and maintain project records and reports in a timely manner.? Possibly conduct hazardous material surveys, as well as asbestos abatement monitoring services during abatement projects. ? Conduct quality control testing at project sites, including concrete, soils, masonry, asphalt, aggregate and reinforcing steel.? A Client of ours is looking to hire a Technician to join their Construction Inspection team who will play a key role in all aspects of construction inspection services and quality control for state (INDOT), county, and local Clients. You?ll be involved in the testing and inspection aspects of wide variety of construction projects including those in the roadway/bridge, water/wastewater, aviation, commercial, and municipal utility/infrastructure sectors. Additional Information:? Projects are typically located within 60?120 minutes of the Indianapolis office.? Meet at the office daily and a company vehicle will be provided to take to the job sites, based on the assignment. ? This position will include a mix of primarily field and laboratory work with some office work. ? Frequent travel within this region is expected.Training will be provided on testing and inspection as well,Day to Day:? Perform construction engineering technician (inspection) services related to earthwork, concrete, asphalt and utility construction for INDOT, municipalities, and private sector clients. ? Perform engineering and construction field testing primarily roadway/bridge projects. ? Inspect and report on specific aspects of construction works in progress, such as concrete pours, rebar placement, pipe replacements as examples. ? Inspect and sample construction materials.? Perform computations with formulas, plots data and draws simple curves and graphs.? Assist Engineers in field during soil and materials investigations.? Ensure that job site tests/observations, including quality control, quality assurance, and verifications are performed in accordance with the standard test/observation methods, project specifications and other contract documents.? Perform lab testing and observation of soils, concrete and asphalt.? Perform inspections for construction projects to ensure contractor compliance with state specifications, plans, and/or proposals for primarily roadway work, roadway, pavement.? Verify plan quantities and calculations as bid plans.?
