Middleware Engineer

Day to Day: Insight Global is seeking a Middleware Engineer to join one of our largest financial clients. This person will be joining the Architecture and Engineering team, supporting the Global Wholesale Banking infrastructure applications. The middleware team is responsible for managing a distributed architecture framework hosting J2EE applications. The ideal candidate will have a background in technical infrastructure management and engineering, with a history of hands-on experience. On a day-to-day basis, they will be responsible for building out and supporting Middleware Infrastructure on UNIX based systems. They will need to build new middleware components using Jboss and Tomcat for current outdated infrastructure. They will be ensuring production stability from an ongoing monitoring and support standpoint and providing Middleware Application Server administration that includes installations, configurations, performance tuning, routine maintenance, and routine patching of enterprise-wide architectures. They will be collaborating with the development and testing teams for end-to-end project initiatives including building new features and functions for a system, building new infrastructure to support a middleware server or production server, design for high availability and failover capability as well as End of Life upgrades or decommissioning work. This role is supporting critical projects and requires direct involvement with Project Managers and stakeholders. The role is focused 50% on BAU work and 50% on important LOB initiatives.
