Insight Global on Saturday, May 13, raised over $28,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation during another successful “Walk for Wishes” event at Truist Park in Atlanta, Georgia.
This was the 19th annual Walk for Wishes in Atlanta, which saw over 800 people join to support in helping to grant life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. With the participation of 40 local Make-A-Wish families, as well as volunteers, donors, friends, and sponsors like Insight Global, the event has so far raised over $315,000.
“We are proud supporters of Make-A-Wish and the work the organization does to provide hope for families going through illness. This is a chance for Insight Global to join together to raise critical funds,” said Allison Green, Director of Philanthropy at Insight Global.
Insight Global and Make-A-Wish
Insight Global’s sponsorship of the event comes as a result of a long-standing partnership with Make-A-Wish that started when Lawrence Dearth, President of Recruiting at Insight Global, saw an opportunity to further the staffing agency’s mission to be the light to the world around them through their commitment to philanthropy.
“Prior to working for Insight Global, I had the opportunity to work at Make-A-Wish,” Dearth said. “The healing power of hope and joy shared with children facing life-threatening illnesses left a profound impact on me. When I thought of our mission to be the light, Make-A-Wish stood out as a partner in furthering that purpose.”
A Walk for Wishes is a Walk for Wellness
May is Mental Health Awareness Month. To improve health and decrease stress, Insight Global has been promoting the benefits of giving back. “This was the perfect event for us to be a part of this month,” said Hannah Jenkins, Team Captain and Wellness Specialist at Insight Global. “Studies have shown that giving has positive effects on happiness. The collision between wellness and philanthropy creates so much opportunity to be the light to the world around us.”
