Insight Global is looking for a Distribution Design Engineer for one of our large engineering consulting firms. This engineer will aide in the upgrades of a major energy providers distribution grids.- Develop design and construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems operating from 4kV through 138kV mostly associated with programmatic work such as overloaded transformers, inspection and maintenance, joint use, and inspection reports.- Comply with the company and Client Safety requirements as well as design and quality expectations.- Perform engineering calculations such as: structural analysis for wood pole loading, guying calculations, specifying conductor sags and tensions for recommended spans, and calculation of voltage drop and flicker. – Develop permitting documents for different AHJ’s. – Provide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews to ensure all applicable engineering and construction standards have been met. – Conduct root cause analysis of outages and mitigation using engineering principles and design.We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Overview:Insight Global is seeking a Remote Mechanical Design Engineer to join the team of one of their top customers. The Mechanical Design Engineer will support the design and analysis of Hot Gas Path and Rotor components for Heavy Duty Gas Turbine and Aeroderivative engines. This role works closely with cross functional engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure designs meet product requirements and design practice. The engineer will contribute to component optimization efforts with a focus on cost, manufacturability, and design robustness. An overview of the daily responsibilities are below:?Mechanical design and analysis of Heavy Duty and Aeroderivative gas turbine components.
