As a Packaging / Container Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, improving, and implementing automotive packaging solutions that support efficient material flow throughout the manufacturing process. You will evaluate existing racks, containers, and sequencing systems to identify opportunities to improve pack density, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency.?On a daily basis, you will work closely with manufacturing, materials, logistics, and plant operations teams to develop returnable packaging solutions for automotive components. This includes designing sequence racks, repack containers, and material handling systems that safely transport and present parts to the assembly lineYou will analyze current packaging processes and identify continuous improvement opportunities that increase container utilization, improve material flow, and optimize floor space. Our electrical technician team builds rapid assembly units and helps design new units. This role works hands-on with harness needs in a real-world physical setup ? designing components and modules, and testing them. The team is currently building the test bench and harness diagrams, taking designs from vehicle build straight into test.What You’ll Do- Build and assemble wiring harnesses from diagrams- Design and test harness/module components in a physical, real-world setup- Draw out harness diagrams- Work with CAN and Ethernet protocols- Use a multimeter to test power and ground continuity- SSH into modules via Linux shell / command prompt for testing and validation- Turn design and harness diagrams into testable buildsWe are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. This project starts early September and runs until 2027.Schedule: Full time Mon – Friday, 8am -6:30pm*, potential saturday workProject Duration: Sept – End of 2026 *potential extensionOverview:We are seeking a detail-oriented and empathetic User Research Moderator to facilitate research sessions with participants testing a wearable prototype device.
