?Lead and oversee bridge, dam, pump station, and attenuator inspection and maintenance programs throughout Wayne County. ?Review project priorities, define scopes of work, and develop repair and preventative maintenance plans for critical infrastructure assets. ?Conduct field reviews of ongoing bridge, pump station, dam, and attenuator repair and rehabilitation projects. ?Manage and update bridge inspection reports, asset inventories, RFAs, load ratings, and compliance documentation within the MiBridge system. ?Perform bridge load ratings, condition assessments, and cost estimates for repairs and rehabilitation projects. ?Develop and maintain bi-weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance schedules for pump stations, dams, and attenuators. ?Plan and direct routine bridge inspections, fracture-critical inspections, scour inspections, underwater inspections, and other specialized structural inspections. ?Evaluate bridge repair methods, construction materials, and maintenance strategies to ensure long-term infrastructure performance and safety. ?Monitor the structural, mechanical, and electrical integrity of pump stations and participate in quarterly operational review meetings. ?Generate repair cost estimates, RFAs, RFPs, and scopes of work for infrastructure maintenance and consulting services. ?Manage engineering consultants and contractors performing bridge inspections, load ratings, structural evaluations, and maintenance-related work. ?Supervise and mentor engineers, inspectors, coordinators, and maintenance personnel while providing daily technical guidance and leadership. ?Collaborate closely with MDOT, county officials, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders on infrastructure projects and compliance initiatives. ?Review and approve engineering reports, inspection findings, repair recommendations, load ratings, and maintenance plans. ?Make key engineering decisions regarding repair materials, rehabilitation methods, bridge repairs, temporary support systems, and structural safety improvements. ?Ensure compliance with FHWA, MDOT, and county regulations to support continued federal funding eligibility. ?Help maintain the safety, reliability, and long-term performance of Wayne County’s bridges and structural assets. ?Attend industry training, bridge inspection certification courses, conferences, and seminars to stay current on engineering standards and best practices. ?Perform additional engineering and infrastructure-related duties as needed.We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. ?Install, modify, repair, program and provide routine maintenance on electrical systems, fixtures, traffic signals, HVAC electrical, electrical motors and control equipment for Bridge and structures (Department specific). ?Test and troubleshoot electrical systems. ?Work from ladders, scaffolds, lift trucks to maintain and repair electrical systems. ?Measure, cuts, bends, threads, assembles poles and installs electrical conduits. ?Installs controls and distribution apparatuses such as switches, relays, circuits, and breaker panels.?Makes routine inspections of installed equipment and/or systems to detect hazards and needs for adjustment/replacement. ?Ability to read and interpret sketches, blueprints, and specifications ?Electricians install and repair electrical wiring systems on state and county pumphouses and Moveable Bridges and operate hand tools. ?Follow up on complaints as directed by Supervision. ?Operate CDL Equipment (pull towed equipment) and maintain a CDL with appropriate endorsements.We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Drive CDL equipment, maintain CDL with A and N credentials and aerial lift certifications (on-the-job training provided) ?Measure, cuts, bends, threads, assembles poles and installs electrical conduits. ?Install controls and distribution apparatuses such as switches, relays, circuits, and breaker panels. Other Duties:?Make routine inspections of installed equipment and/or systems to detect hazards and needs for adjustment/replacement. ?Construct new and used controller cabinets. Construct or fabricate parts, using hand tools, according to specifications. ?Build new and used Traffic Signals, re-lamp, rewire, build bases, install handholes. ?Operation of a bucket truck, trencher, boom truck and auger truck to install and move traffic signal post, poles, spans, and equipment – Install underground conduits, hand holes, foundations and pulling in wire. ?Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit or moving or lifting heavy objects. Use of hoists, hand lines, blocks and tackle to move, raise, lower poles. ?Use a laptop to upload and download signal timings into controllers. ?Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes. ?Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment.?Perform other related duties and projects as needed. ?This position supervises or leads part-time employees such as Seasonal Laborers and Traffic Signal Mechanics ?Electrical tools, power tools, cement tools, augers, specialty equipment such as bucket lifts and platforms all provided.?Must adhere to electric code and safety regulations. $75k to $83k per year annual salary.
