Industrial Engineer

Detroit, MI

A large OEM in Detroit, MI is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to support daily production operations within General Assembly. This role is heavily floor-focused and works closely with production, materials, and union teams to drive productivity, line balance, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on production support role, ideal for an IE who can ramp up quickly and is comfortable working directly on the plant floor.Responsibilities:?Provide daily production support for General Assembly operations?Perform line balancing, time studies, and productivity analysis?Conduct time analysis using MODAPTS?Identify and implement continuous improvement (CI) initiatives?Partner closely with Production, Materials, and Union teams on the floor?Support material planning at workstations (training provided if needed)?Develop and support productivity and CI plans in a union manufacturing environment?Assist with workstation layout and design, with a strong focus on ergonomics?Perform throughput analysis to improve operational efficiency?Collaborate across functions to resolve daily production issues?Occasionally support off-shift production needs by staying late to meet with 2nd shift (no dedicated 2nd shift IE team)Compensation: $35-40/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. HR Manager

Detroit, MI

A client in the Detroit area is seeking a HR Manager for a contract to hire opportunity. The Human Resources manager will oversee all day-to-day HR operations and serve as the primary point of contact for employees and leadership. This role is responsible for managing full-cycle hiring, onboarding, compliance, benefits administration, and employee relations while operating as a one-person HR department. The position plays a critical role in supporting organizational growth, seasonal staffing needs, and regulatory compliance.Key Responsibilities- The HR professional will manage full-cycle recruiting and onboarding processes, ensuring a smooth and compliant experience for all new hires. This includes conducting phone screens after resumes are reviewed by hiring managers, coordinating new-hire training, and leading employee orientation programs.- This role is responsible for maintaining HR compliance and reporting, including handling employee documentation related to FMLA, PTO tracking, employment verifications, and student loan paperwork. – The individual will ensure accurate recordkeeping and adherence to applicable labor and employment regulations.- The position will coordinate employee benefits administration, including leading open enrollment activities each November and serving as a liaison between employees and benefits providers. Performance review cycles will be managed through Paychex, including tracking, documentation, and support for leadership.- As the sole HR representative, this role will independently lead all HR functions and act as a trusted resource for employees and management. – Additionally, the position will oversee seasonal staffing efforts, including coordinating the hiring and onboarding of approximately 25?30 summer camp employees each year.We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing end-to-end payroll operations across a multi-entity organization, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing for hourly and salaried employee populations across multiple states and locations. This role serves as a subject matter expert for payroll operations, tax compliance, audits, and system optimization. The Payroll Manager partners closely with Human Resources, Finance, Legal, and external payroll vendors to support payroll accuracy, compliance, and scalability.
