Insight Global Brings Job-Readiness Resources to Local Job Seekers in Charlotte, North Carolina

More than 300 local job seekers showed up to the AvidXchange Music Factory on Saturday, July 29, 2023, to attend a mobile career event hosted by Insight Global. The career fair is part of a mobile event series, the Be the Light Tour, which aims to empower and serve communities by providing direct access to job-readiness resources and career-building strategies.

All services offered during the event were free of charge, including:

  • One on one consultations with Insight Global hiring experts to build a career path around one’s goals
  • Career-readiness workshops on resume writing, technology, interview skills, and job hunting
  • Headshot studio complete with a wardrobe stylist, hair and makeup touch ups, and a professional photographer
  • Help creating a LinkedIn profile
  • Career networking opportunities with local companies
  • Childcare services

Kahlil Bostick, Insight Global’s Senior Social Impact Manager, explained why the staffing industry leader created the series—emphasizing that job-readiness resources aren’t always readily available to every community. “We want to make sure that we provide these resources and give people the opportunity to be successful,” he said in an interview with WCNCTV Charlotte Today to discuss the event.

Local businesses and city leaders were invited to attend the Charlotte Be the Light Tour stop as well. Mayor Pro Tem Braxton Winston and Economic Development and Jobs Committee Chair Malcom Graham spoke at the event alongside Insight Global CEO Bert Bean and AvidXchange President Dan Drees.

This is the first time Insight Global has brought its mobile career event to the Queen City.

The impact that jobseekers felt after the event was evident:

“I’m a server right now and I’ve never really thought to look outside of the hospitality or restaurant industry, and I never took advantage of things like this in school, so I didn’t really know what lies out there… it’s really cool to have opportunities like this for adults rediscovering themselves.” – Serena

“I feel like I’ve found a reinvigorated confidence in who I am and what I can do. I took away a lot from this, and I hope it comes around next year too.” – Josh
