An employer in the Greater Seattle Area is searching for a Vehicle Support Specialist to join their customer support team. This company is a global provider of aftermarket parts and services to support dealers worldwide. This includes 18 distribution centers globally that support 2,200 dealerships and over 1,000,000 customers. Aftermarket support includes world-class customer centers that deliver industry-leading uptime in conjunction with our outstanding supply chain that delivers record levels of inventory availability for dealers and customers. In this role, the ideal candidate will be responsible for the following: provide direct technical support to Dealer Technicians by identifying customer concerns and reviewing prior troubleshooting results, provide rapid and accurate technical and diagnostic support using our internal case management tool TCS 365; following on repair progress to ensure maximum uptime in returning trucks to service; provide Software Support on engine applications that require special approvals, additional research or are regulated by government agencies. Provide instructions and updates to dealer technicians on these situations; work with multiple divisions to certify and test new diagnostic tools or improvements to existing tools and support continuous improvement teams; escalate complex issues to Field Service Engineers, Advanced Diagnostic Engineering, Technical Document Specialists, Customer Service Managers, and Internal Management Team; provide detailed documentation to appropriate divisions regarding product quality and improvements. ? Ensures adherence to schedule, budget and quality in accordance with program requirements.? Effectively leads and manages a team of Engineers to design/certify aircraft modifications for such systems as air-conditioning and heating, cabin management, in-flight entertainment and communication, electrical power distribution and conversion, personal power (convenience and utility outlets, wireless charging), interior lighting, potable and waste-water systems, smoke and fire detection, security and camera.? Ensures technical requirements for engineering designs are met.? Leads the team to produce designs that account for design to cost, design for installation and design for manufacturing.? Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training and evaluating staff. Makes recommendations, initiates promotions, transfers and disciplinary action.? Conducts 1:1 discussions, annual performance reviews and mid-year reviews and salary adjustments.? Sets the quality standard for the engineering department and ensures processes are established and standards are met for their specific discipline.? Coaches, trains and mentors a team of Design Engineers to keep all team members working efficiently.? Develops analytical tools, databases and workflow procedures, as needed, for efficient design.? Manages multiple priorities and competing tasks while making decisions as to priority of tasks and assignment of team members.? Works closely and constructively with other departments within Greenpoint to gain consensus on the best strategy for each engineering design issue.? Communicates clearly with the engineering team, other departments and vendors, as required, to facilitate smooth completion of Greenpoint designs.? Prepares staffing plans, anticipates critical path issues and sets a schedule to meet program schedules and budgets.? Assists with bids and estimations of costs for new programs.?
