We are looking for a detail-oriented and automation-driven Quality Engineer to build, maintain and use scalable automated testing frameworks. The ideal candidate has strong experience in Java and... Playwright, and is passionate about ensuring product quality through automation, reliability engineering, and continuous improvement. This role blends development and testing ? you will design automated test systems and tests, improve CI/CD quality gates, and work closely with engineering and operations teams to ship high-quality software products with confidence. You will be expected to understand and analyze the requirements and procedures of Business Data Cloud (BDC) and create, execute, and optimize BDC Test Cases, as well as for the HANA Cloud product, including testing in an Impact Level 5 (IL5) environment.On a day-to-day basis, this individual will be responsible for designing and maintaining automated test frameworks, primarily using Java, JavaScript, and Playwright, while building out end-to-end, integration, and API test suites. They will work closely with development and DevOps teams to integrate these tests into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring quality is built into every stage of the release process. A large part of the role involves analyzing requirements for SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) and HANA Cloud, creating and executing test cases, and continuously improving test coverage and performance. They will also troubleshoot test failures and production issues, perform root cause analysis, and track defects through resolution.
