Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a passionate and seasoned Software Engineer who can design, develop, and maintain web applications that support our core business operations — while also owning the Windows Server infrastructure on which those applications run. The ideal candidate is a full-stack developer with strong expertise in React, Django, Python, and Microsoft SQL Server, paired with hands-on experience with a Microsoft Server environment, IIS, DNS, and network security in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities
Design and develop scalable, maintainable, and high-performance web applications
Deploy and manage web applications on IIS running on Windows Server 2019+, including SSL/TLS certificate management, application pool configuration, and performance tuning
Implement and enforce security best practices at the application, server, and network levels — including access controls, vulnerability patching, and audit logging
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features
Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using Django and Python
Build modern, responsive user interfaces in React
Optimize database queries and schema design in Microsoft SQL Server 2019+
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices
Participate in architecture discussions, technical planning, and system design reviews
Ensure application security, performance, and reliability through testing and monitoring
Be able to take direction and instruction from senior management.

Required Skills & Experience
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
3–6 years of professional full-stack development experience
Proficiency with React 18+
Proficiency with Django 4.x
Proficiency with Python 3.x
Proficiency with RESTful API development
Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3
SQL Server 2019+ – schema design, writing stored procedures, indexing, and query optimization
Windows Server 2019+ – understanding of the installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance
IIS (Internet Information Services) – deploying and managing web applications, SSL/TLS bindings, and application pool configuration
DNS – understanding of DNS resolution, record types (A, CNAME, MX, TXT), and troubleshooting name resolution issues
Networking fundamentals – understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, firewalls, VPNs, and basic network troubleshooting in a Windows environment
Security awareness – Windows security best practices, user/group permissions (Active Directory), patch management, and application-level security hardening
Identity management solutions – Auth0 / Okta
Version control – Git
Automated testing experience – understand how to test your own code, make changes, and test again without relying on a testing team to find your mistakes.
Familiarity with DevOps best practices
Experience in an Agile environment
Ability to work independently – this is a small team – set goals – assign timeline – achieve agreed-upon timeframe.
Confidence to have a voice, provide technical opinions, and push back when needed
Strong communication – no language barrier – must have dependable internet – dependable phone service – be able to work an 8 – 5 work week with deployments happening outside normal business hours.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
C# / .NET
Experience with Windows Server Group Policy, WSUS, or Remote Desktop Services
Exposure to network monitoring tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, PRTG)
Security certifications (CompTIA Security+, Microsoft AZ-900/SC-900, or similar)
MCP – Microsoft certified professional
SQL Server Admin Certification
