The Embedded Senior Network Engineer is what makes Option 1B different from Option 1A. This role works inside Charter's network engineering team, not adjacent to it ? attending stand-ups, reviewing... configurations, sitting in on troubleshooting, and answering questions in real time. The purpose is twofold: (1) validate that design decisions are implementable within Charter's actual operating environment, surfacing problems while they are still cheap to fix; and (2) mentor Charter L3?L4 engineers, elevating them toward L4?L5 capability over the engagement. This role is also the practical face of IG Consulting for the Charter team day-to-day. The Principal Architect engages at major decision points; the Senior Network Engineer is there every day. Primary Responsibilities Embed within Charter's network engineering team at Charlotte or Denver, attending team rituals and working from Charter's offices the majority of each week. Validate HLD and LLD design decisions against Charter's actual operating environment; surface implementation-time issues during the design phase. Lead detailed configuration design sessions for Palo Alto firewall policy, IPsec tunnels, MLAG switching, and data diode integration. Coordinate with Owl Cyber Defense or EverFox vendor teams on technical specification details. Coordinate with Ray Lord and Charter NEO/PE team on backbone integration design (NEOPROG-65202). Provide structured mentoring to Charter L3?L4 engineers ? specifically on architecture decision-making, design rationale, and best practices. Document decisions in the engagement Decision Log as they happen, not retroactively. Support the Principal Architect in Week 3 comparative evaluation (Option 1 vs Option 2) by providing operational feasibility input.
