Associate Counsel

A non-profit research services organization in Boulder, Colorado is looking to add an Associate Counsel to their team! This individual will serve as a key legal advisor across the organization, providing guidance on contracts, intellectual property, privacy, and compliance-related matters. Day to day, they will draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements including vendor contracts, sponsored research agreements, NDAs, and provide technology transfer support under the direct supervision of the Chief Legal Officer or Senior Associate Counsel. They will act as a subject matter expert on intellectual property (trademarks, patents, and copyrights, etc.), as well as data protection, while also supporting privacy and data security initiatives. This role will also develop, interpret, and implement legal policies and procedures, as well as advise on research compliance, ethics, and conflict of interest matters. The position will support litigation efforts as needed. Additionally, they will collaborate cross-functionally with leadership, IT, and business units, provide training on legal best practices, and help drive overall legal strategy and risk management efforts across the organization. This position follows a hybrid schedule with at least 3 days in the office and offers a competitive base salary of $150,000-$170,000k.
