The Brazil technology market gives global companies access to talent across a much wider range of roles than software development alone. Brazilian professionals support cloud environments, secure enterprise systems, analyze data, test customer-facing products, design digital experiences, and manage the platforms that keep large organizations running.

For hiring leaders, that range creates options. A company can add an individual specialist, build a cross-functional team, or expand an established technical function in the country.

The size of the broader market helps explain that variety. Brazil’s ICT macro-sector produced an estimated R$762.4 billion in 2024, equal to 6.5% of national GDP. In addition, 82% of surveyed technology companies expected to grow their teams over the following two years.

Why Companies are Looking at Brazil for Technology Talent

Brazil has a large and active technology economy with talent working inside technology companies, consulting firms, financial institutions, telecommunications providers, manufacturers, retailers, and other enterprises. That cross-industry exposure matters because many organizations need professionals who understand how technology supports an actual business process, rather than a team that works in isolation.

The country’s talent pipeline is expanding as well. 105,706 students completed higher education or federal technical programs in ICT fields in 2023. The number of higher-education graduates in these fields grew 70.4% between 2019 and 2023.

Demand is growing alongside that pipeline. There’s currently a 30.2% mismatch between the increase in demand for technology professionals and the increase in qualified supply over the periods covered by its analysis. Brasscom’s 2025 report identified IT managers, back-end developers, information security coordinators, and project managers among the roles expected to see the strongest demand.

For international employers, this creates a market with meaningful depth, but also real competition. A successful hiring strategy needs to account for the specific role, location, employment model, language expectations, and level of experience required.

Types of Technology Talent in Brazil

There are many different technology specialties to be found in Brazil. Let’s explore some of the most common ones.

Software Developers and Engineers

Software development remains one of the largest hiring categories in Brazil. Companies can find back-end developers, full-stack engineers, mobile developers, front-end specialists, and application architects across industries ranging from financial services to manufacturing.

These roles may support a new digital product, improve an existing application, or connect systems that were never designed to work together. The right profile depends heavily on the work. A consumer application may require developers with mobile and user-experience awareness, while an enterprise modernization program may need engineers who are comfortable navigating older systems and complex integrations.

Cloud and DevOps Professionals

Cloud and DevOps hiring is often driven by modernization initiatives, infrastructure migrations, and growing application portfolios. Organizations frequently need engineers who can automate deployments, improve system reliability, manage cloud environments, and support platform operations.

Brazil offers talent across cloud engineering, site reliability engineering, DevOps, infrastructure automation, and cloud architecture. These roles help organizations support larger technology environments without overloading internal teams.

Data and AI Talent

Data teams in Brazil support analytics, reporting, governance, engineering, machine learning, and AI-enabled initiatives. Companies commonly hire data engineers, analysts, business intelligence developers, data scientists, and AI specialists.

Demand continues to grow as organizations invest in data infrastructure and AI adoption. According to Cetic.br, the share of Brazilian companies using AI increased from 13% in 2024 to 17% in 2025, with adoption reaching 50% among large enterprises.

For employers, this creates demand for professionals who can build data foundations, maintain pipelines, and support business-facing analytics efforts.

Cybersecurity Professionals

Security hiring often follows business growth. New cloud environments, additional users, platform integrations, and expanding digital operations create ongoing demand for security expertise.

Brazil offers cybersecurity analysts, security engineers, cloud security specialists, identity and access management professionals, and governance experts. Some organizations need operational support through security monitoring, while others focus on compliance, risk management, or architecture strategy.

Quality Assurance and Software Testing

Quality assurance professionals help companies release dependable software without forcing developers to carry the entire testing workload. Brazil offers manual testers, automation engineers, QA analysts, performance testers, and professionals who specialize in testing mobile or web applications.

A QA team may verify that a product works as expected, build automated test coverage, test integrations, or identify performance issues before users encounter them. For organizations running frequent software releases, QA automation can become especially valuable because repeatable testing helps teams spot problems earlier.

UX, UI, and Product Talent

Strong technology teams also need people who understand how customers and employees use what gets built. UX designers research user needs and organize digital experiences. UI designers focus on the look and interaction of a product. Product designers may work across both areas.

The market also includes product managers, business analysts, scrum masters, and technical project managers. These professionals help connect business priorities with the work of developers, data specialists, designers, and other technical contributors.

These roles are particularly important for international teams because they create structure around decisions and delivery. A skilled project manager or scrum master can help clarify ownership, while a business analyst can translate operational needs into requirements the technical team can use.

Enterprise Platform Specialists

Many businesses rely on large platforms to manage customer relationships, internal workflows, finance, HR, and operations. Brazil’s technology market includes professionals with experience in systems such as SAP, Salesforce, and ServiceNow, along with solution architects who help connect these platforms to the wider enterprise environment.

Enterprise platform specialists may configure systems, develop custom features, support integrations, or improve how employees use the technology. These positions often call for a mix of technical knowledge and business context. A developer who understands the platform but not the underlying process may struggle to design a useful solution.

Brazil can support a wide range of technology priorities, from application development and cloud operations to cybersecurity, QA, product work, data, and enterprise platforms. The opportunity is strongest when companies match the country’s talent strengths to a defined business need and build the right structure around the people doing the work.
