A client is looking for an RF engineer for a contract position based in Providence, RI. The RF Communications Technologist supports wireless communications infrastructure operations, maintains and repairs wireless backhaul systems. They are also in charge of monitoring all events and triaging event alerts in the communications and wireless environment and escalate exception conditions.This employee will be responsible for FCC License coordination and frequency searching for the Land, Mobile and Radio systems. They will assist with the design of terrain coverage analysis for the VHF and UHF frequency software using RF modeling analysis software. They will also model the coverage using heat maps. Their main goal is to identify gaps using frequency propagation and the terrain of area to show where there are gaps in coverage. Days will vary based on their workload ? some days will be spent completing design work in Visio to produce drawings and others may have them conducting site visits to Pennsylvania to look at locations, survey sites and inspect their rack space within the substations and RF Shelters.Reason for opening: Project in occurring in 3 parts1st – Field LMR sites, tower sites ? modifying, new builds, antennas2nd ?
