This developer will play a key role in developing backend microservices to modernize on of their largest retail applications. Responsibilities include: ? Develop and maintain backend microservices using Java and Spring Boot ? Build and integrate APIs (both GraphQL and REST) for scalable service communication ? Deploy and manage services on Google Cloud Platform (GKE) ? Work with Google Cloud Spanner (Postgres dialect) and pub/sub tools like Kafka ? Automate CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Argo CD Working with security vulnerabilities. Someone who can resolve those vulnerabilities. They are looking for a senior person due to the need to identify and resolve vulnerabilities. YOUR DAY-TO-DAY: (Responsibilities) ? Design, build, and maintain highly scalable backend services and microservices supporting digital products. ? Develop secure, resilient, and high-performance RESTful APIs and/or gRPC services consumed by millions of users. ? Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code using modern software engineering practices, including unit, integration, and performance testing. ? Design distributed systems capable of supporting high traffic, low latency, and high availability. ? Optimize application performance across services, databases, caching layers, messaging systems, and cloud infrastructure. ? Participate in architecture reviews and influence technical decisions for new products, platform enhancements, and modernization initiatives. ? Take ownership of backend services throughout their lifecycle, including design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and continuous improvement. ? Serve as a technical leader on complex engineering initiatives by helping guide architectural decisions, establishing engineering best practices, and influencing technical direction across the team. ? Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Architects, DevOps, QA, Security, and cross-functional engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle. ? Perform thoughtful code reviews while mentoring engineers and promoting engineering best practices across the organization. ? Improve platform observability through centralized logging, monitoring, distributed tracing, and performance metrics. ? Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and continuous delivery initiatives that improve software quality and release velocity. ? Drive technical debt reduction, platform modernization, and adoption of modern backend engineering practices. ? Participate in production support, incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous reliability improvements. ? This candidate will serve as a strategic partner to the CEO, managing a highly complex schedule, coordinating executive communications, overseeing travel and event logistics, and ensuring seamless execution of key priorities across the organization. The ideal candidate is a polished and proactive executive support professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, exercises exceptional discretion, and consistently anticipates needs before they arise.
