Insight Global Launches Jobs & Joy

Jobs & Joy Logo

Dominique and Daniel don’t know each other but they have something in common; both of them were hired by Insight Global as new Consultants this last week. They also happen to live in Alabama, and both have faced that uncertainty, doubt right in the face this year. Dominique is a welder, and a skilled one at that. Daniel is a production planner working at plants in the automobile industry; a bedrock of American pride and ingenuity. This year both found themselves out of work due to the unforeseen, unimaginable year we’ve had. Both had internal grit to fight on applying for jobs, one after another. Both were unsuccessful until they found their way to hard-working recruiters at a staffing agency. Both were submitted to multiple openings generated from Insight Global Account Managers. Both received coaching on how to interview, how to present their resume. Both are now starting new roles in November, two of 1,415 new hires just last week, ready to go back to work.

Job seekers in today’s America face a bleak reality; the odds are significantly against them. Daniel told his Insight Global team that before he met Meghan Sweeney he had applied for over 1,000 jobs to no avail. A thousand times being told “No”, “Not Now”, “I wish we could”. That’s grit. That’s the uphill climb so many face right now. That is a significant excuse to let something rob you of your Joy if you wish to allow it. That is why those with the ability to hire: recruiters, staffing agencies, hiring managers, companies big and small, must work together with urgency. That ability is now a responsibility, and a large one at that to get Americans back to work.

Of all of the lessons we’ve learned this year in our industry, one message from our CEO resonated to my core this week. While referencing the uncertainty of the election, the morning after polls closed where nobody knew the results, he said this: “Don’t let it rob you of your Joy.” Ambiguity, uncertainty, fear, doubt, these feelings are a cancer to one’s true joy. It also serves as a reminder that joy is a choice. It is not fleeting, like happiness, but rather an internal, everlasting peace; a source of positivity and hope. It’s a choice that is easier at times than others, but a choice none-the-less.

At Insight Global, it’s our choice to be a source of Joy for people. It’s embodied in one of our mantras Be The Light and manifested in actions in our communities. These next two months we’re pledging to put 8,000 job seekers in North America to work, and with every 100th new hire we’re going to donate $1,000 to one of 8 charities of the consultant and hiring manager’s choice.

We’re pledging to help them choose Joy, then spread it- this is Jobs & Joy. We’re dedicated to the relentless pursuit of opportunity for others with every phone call, LinkedIn message, interview prep, every time we get to submit a candidate to an opening. It kicked off this last week. We have 6,585 hires to go before Christmas. Our 100th was Dominique, mentioned above. He chose to have Insight Global donate his allotment to the Insight Global Family Foundation, our 501c3 dedicated to supporting Insight Global Consultants and Employees facing acute and unforeseen hardships. Over 50 of our Consultants’ families have benefitted from that fund already this year, and thanks to Dominique, and his recruiter Meghan, there’s a little more Joy to share to the next one in need.
