Leadership Spotlight: Alex Holden

At Insight Global, we celebrate leaders who embrace change, take risks, and push boundaries to create impact. One such leader is Sales Manager Alex Holden, whose journey embodies the spirit of adaptability, mentorship, and determination.

Originally from Ireland, Alex came to the U.S. to play D1 rugby at St. Bonaventure University in New York. While his journey started on the field, his career took a transformative turn when he joined Insight Global in Pittsburgh, working for nearly a year before facing a significant challenge: visa issues. But challenges don’t define leaders—how they overcome them does.

Instead of letting obstacles halt his progress, Alex took a leap, relocating to Vancouver, a city that not only matched his passion for snowboarding but also offered exciting opportunities in IT and gaming recruitment.

While in Vancouver, Alex thrived in the IT division, working closely with gaming companies and making an impact in a dynamic industry. However, his true calling became clear through mentorship—guiding an intern who later secured a full-time role was a turning point. This experience solidified his ambition to transition into leadership.

Seeking his next challenge, Alex engaged in discussions with Insight Global Business, exploring opportunities in multiple offices across the U.S. His background in finance—despite limited direct IT experience—combined with his passion for development and mentorship, made him an ideal candidate for a leadership role.

With guidance from leaders like Greg Dowling, Greg Murray, and Mike Karacic, Alex set his sights on Austin, where the Semiconductor Division presented an exciting opportunity. He was particularly drawn to the division due to his family’s background in semiconductors, making this move a perfect match.

Jared Tatham, Managing Director of the Semiconductor Division, played a pivotal role in this transition, helping Alex navigate the move and preparing him to step into a leadership role in Austin. With Jared’s mentorship and leadership, Alex embraced the challenge, excited to contribute to the division’s success and drive growth.

After flying to Atlanta for an interview, Alex knew this was the next step in his journey. While leaving Vancouver—where he had built strong relationships—was difficult, career growth and leadership development remained his top priorities.

Austin isn’t just another move—it’s the seventh city in nine years for Alex. But with this transition comes fast-tracked leadership opportunities that will allow him to create impact at an accelerated pace.

At Insight Global, we believe in fostering an environment where leaders like Alex can thrive. His journey is a testament to our commitment to developing people personally, professionally, and financially so they can be the light to the world around them.

We are proud to recognize leaders like Alex who aren’t afraid to take on a new challenge—developing themselves and those around them in the process.
