This October, Insight Global employees around the world proved once again what it looks like to live out “We Take Care of Each Other.” Through this Shared Value, employees from over 65 offices and across six countries rallied around one big goal: raise $100,000 to help support the fight against breast cancer…
… and our people delivered.
Together, Insight Global employees raised nearly $120,000 for the American Cancer Society to support breast cancer research, patient services, education programs, and more. The company began its partnership with the American Cancer Society earlier this year, building on its longstanding support for the cause.
But this campaign was about more than hitting a number; it’s about hundreds of their people showing up together for a cause that hits close to home for so many.
Entirely employee-led, offices made the mission their own with walks, service opportunities, fundraisers, and plenty of friendly competition that stayed true to Insight Global’s culture while tailoring to each location’s interests and rallying their people.
“This month has always been more than fundraising for us,” said Paige Hurner, Program Manager at Insight Global. “It’s been so special seeing all our people and offices come together to show support for one another and our communities, raise awareness of why prioritizing health matters, and put one of our Shared Values, ‘We Take Care of Each Other,’ into action; it’s simply who our people are.”
In Sacramento, that meant a Hot Ones-inspired wing-eating competition and pickleball tournament that brought in nearly $1,500. Other unique activations across the company’s office locations include bake sales, office “pink outs,” pickleball and volleyball tournaments, costume contests, service days, care package donations to breast cancer survivors, and more depending on what that office wanted.
“My ‘why’ will always be my sister, Laani. She’s my older sister, my best friend, and my person. Watching her fight Triple Negative Breast Cancer changed me, and knowing that early detection played such a huge role in her being here today is why Breast Cancer Awareness Month means so much to me,” said Kai McKinnon, A/R Billing Supervisor at Insight Global. “This year, I had the opportunity to take that very personal experience and turn it into something positive by leading [Insight Global’s] Revenue fundraising efforts and partnering with our amazing Pulse team. We wore pink, created a Wall of Hope, walked together, fundraised, shared stories, and took a $500 goal to more than $1,300. But honestly, the dollar amount isn’t what I’ll remember most. I’ll remember seeing people write the names of survivors, caregivers, and loved ones they were honoring. I’ll remember how people showed up for each other.”
