Insight Global Appoints Ariel Zion to Chief Legal Officer

Insight Global announced today the appointment of Ariel Zion to Chief Legal Officer. Ms. Zion will report to CEO Bert Bean. In this role, she will oversee Insight Global’s Legal and Security organizations, including all legal compliance and litigation, physical and industrial security, and safety.

Her appointment is effective March 15th.

Ms. Zion has been with Insight Global for over six years, starting as an Associate General Counsel in 2017 before earning promotions to elevated roles including Vice President and Deputy General Counsel. In those positions, she was instrumental in maturing Insight Global’s legal department, building out teams and critical functional areas while focusing on developing excellent legal talent.  Prior to joining Insight Global, Ms. Zion spent 10 years as a commercial litigator with two different Atlanta firms after obtaining her law degree from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law in 2007.

Ms. Zion’s impact exceeds her work in the legal department with her close partnership and passion for the advancement of women in the workplace through Insight Global’s Women’s Leadership Council where she serves on the Executive Council. Additionally, she is an advocate and voice for the company’s Jewish Employee Network Resources Group (ENRG).

“First, Ariel Zion is a great person,” said Bert Bean. “She completely embodies Insight Global’s Shared Values and is someone I trust deeply. Second, Ariel Zion is a fighter. When it comes to hitting a hard goal, Ariel is as tough as she is relentless. It makes me so happy to have her join my team. I’m fired up to get to go to work alongside her. We’re going to have a lot of fun together.”

In 2021 Ms. Zion was named a Titan, one of the highest honors presented to an Insight Global employee for their relentless commitment to living out the company’s Shared Values.

“I have never worked anywhere that cares as deeply about its people and culture as Insight Global.  Leading through our Shared Values ensures that our people feel seen, respected, and supported.  And to me as a lawyer, these Shared Values perfectly align with the oath I took when I was admitted to the bar.”  she said.  “They are engrained in who I am both professionally and personally.”

Ms. Zion’s promotion comes after the retirement announcement of David Lowance, who has acted as the company’s Chief Legal Officer for the past decade.

“When I joined Insight Global, I was excited about bringing together the practice of law with the opportunity to build and manage teams, but I didn’t know how rewarding it really would be,” said Lowance.

“I am so excited to see Ariel take over as CLO and execute her vision. The career she has had leading to this point embodies so many of the things we look for in IG people – grit, hard work, a willingness to learn and be challenged, and a deep desire to be part of a team of people that genuinely cares about each other and celebrates personal and professional accomplishments as we do important work together.”

Ms. Zion said “David Lowance has been an incredible mentor, friend, and leader.  I am fortunate to take the helm of an organization that has benefitted from his years of leadership.  The team is totally aligned to the Company’s purpose to grow our people personally, professionally and financially so they can Be the Light to the world around them, and will continue to lock arms with the business to realize the success that lies ahead.  The future of Insight Global and the CLO’s organization is bright.”

Outside of work, Ms. Zion serves on the board of directors of Leadership Buckhead, a leadership development program of which she is also a graduate.  She is also a graduate of the Anti-Defamation League’s Glass Leadership Institute.  She is an active PTO member for her children’s school, and a proud alumni of the University of Texas at Austin.  She is married to her husband Jason, and they have two children.
