Data Highlights Essential Role of
Tech-Enabled People
The AI in Hiring 2025 survey highlights the technology’s expanding role in streamlining the hiring process—but the still-essential nature of people to make great hires.
Key findings include:
- AI in Hiring Usage is Widespread: 99% of those surveyed reported using AI in some capacity in the hiring process.
- Improved Efficiency: 98% saw significant improvements in hiring efficiency via AI in things like scheduling interviews, screening resumes, and assessing skills.
- Human-AI Balance: Even with this adoption and positive outcomes, 93% of hiring managers emphasized the importance of human involvement in the hiring process.
- Better Hiring Matches: 74% say they believe AI will be able to assist human interviewers or hiring managers during the hiring process by assessing compatibility of applicant skills with the position they’ve applied to.
- Double Standard for AI Users?: 88% of those surveyed say they can tell when candidates are using AI to help with applications, cover letters, or resumes. 54% of hiring managers say they would care if they do.
- Unbiased AI: 2/3 of those surveyed believe AI will be able to remove or mitigate cultural biases from the interview process.
Nearly All Hiring Managers Use AI, But
More Than Half Care if an Applicant Uses It
With virtually all hiring managers reporting that they use AI in the hiring process, 54% also said they care if a job seeker applies using a resume or cover letter written by AI. The juxtaposition of these two data points reveals a friction point for people on opposite sides of the interview table.
Perhaps, depending on the relevance to the role, hiring managers may view job seekers who use the tool as more tech savvy or resourceful. Some may not even give job seekers’ use of the tool a second thought. But others may see AI use in applying for a job negatively.
To dig a little deeper, we asked our 3 million followers on LinkedIn a few more questions about job seekers using AI, and here’s what they told us.

Smart Adoption Is a Must to Adapt at the Speed of Business
Artificial intelligence is yet another part of the evolution of business technology. Adopting it will likely be an inevitable step forward in the coming years for many businesses.
Our research shows how hiring managers are applying AI to the standard components of the hiring process, achieving noticeable success. Hiring managers use AI as part of their day-to-day work now, and this report indicates growing enthusiasm among them for the future of integrating the tool into the hiring process—but not as a replacement for human experts.
How Insight Global Uses AI
At Insight Global, we adopted AI to serve our purpose and align with our shared values. One example is connecting great candidates to our open job requisitions. We have a database of hundreds of thousands of candidates at any time.
Our recruiters are great at digging through our own database (on top of searching for passive candidates) to find the right person for a particular job, but our AI model accelerates and enhances matching candidates with clients based on their skills, experiences, and preferences.
This helps us reduce the time and effort required to find the best fit for each role. It also improves the quality and satisfaction of our placements for both candidates and clients. We’ve seen a statistical increase in efficiency for the time it takes for us to match candidates to the needs of our customers.
Level up Your AI Adoption for Hiring—and More
Insight Global helps our clients leverage AI in a variety of ways through our professional services division, Evergreen.
Our artificial intelligence/machine learning experts develop and deploy value-added Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning models that help decrease costs and drive growth of our customers’ reach.
We leverage both traditional and generative AI technologies to assist business functions in discovering new business opportunities, reducing waste, and improving cost effectiveness.
