Insight Global Appoints Rod Bates to Chief Data and Analytics Officer

Insight Global announced this month the appointment of Rod Bates to Chief Data and Analytics Officer. Bates will report to DeWayne Griffin, Chief Digital and Information Officer. In this role, Bates will oversee the company’s data, insights, and analytics teams while partnering closely with Insight Global’s executive leadership team and board of directors.

In his time at Insight Global, Bates has established a world class data and analytics team which prides itself on delivering significant value across all sectors of the business—leading the company’s approach to data strategy and governance, data engineering, business intelligence, data science, analytics product adoption, and intelligent automation.

Before joining Insight Global in 2022, Bates held many leadership positions in data and analytics, including his most recent roles at PwC as Managing Director, Consumer Markets Data & Analytics Leader and The Coca-Cola Company as Vice President, Decision Science and Data Strategy.

Outside of work, Bates is committed to serving his community by partnering with faculty and staff to mentor university students that aspire to work in analytics and AI. He currently serves on the advisory board for the Haslam School of Business at the University of Tennessee, Department of Business Analytics and Statistics. He has also previously served on the advisory board for Business Analytics at Georgia Tech. Bates frequently gives guest lectures and speaking engagements on the role of analytics and AI in corporate settings.  Rod is married to Mingshu Bates, who is Chief Analytics Officer at AFS Logistics, and their daughter Katie works in analytics at PwC.
