Essential Duties and Responsibilities: There are two primary job functions - Detailed component design and FEA based stress analysis. -Component design consists of conceptual sketches (physical or CAD) which are fed to the drafting team. Significant application of concepts such as design to specification, design for manufacturing, design for inspection, and design for cost. -Stress analysis has a heavy emphasis on structural dynamics, fatigue, and nonlinear solutions. FEA tasks range from simple geometry creation and meshing all the way to final analysis report. ? Works with a diverse cross-functional team of engineers designing and analyzing metallic parts that are produced using a variety of manufacturing methods.? All work goes through review process to higher levels; 50% work unsupervised ? This role will be delivering final designs and results ? Common methods: forming and welding of sheet metal, machining, additive manufacturing, and casting. ? Regular interaction with internal teams of: Project Engineers, Drafters, Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Engineers, Test Lab Personnel, Contracts, and Sales. ? Tasks involve a full range of product life cycle including new product development, legacy product support, research and development, and failure analysis. ? This position requires strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.Job Duties? Conduct field audits of existing electric and telecommunication utility infrastructure by visually identifying, inspecting, measuring (including use of a fiberglass measuring stick), and accurately recording asset information. ? Collect, validate, and document detailed field data using hand-held computers, GPS units, cameras, and other field technology to support aerial utility design work. ? Operate as a lone worker when required or as part of a two-person field team, effectively managing assigned production goals, schedules, and work locations. ? Utilize GIS, Katapult, SpidaCalc (or similar pole loading analysis software), and other utility design platforms to analyze field data and develop compliant aerial utility design solutions.? Apply engineering principles, National Electric Safety Code (NESC) requirements, and client-specific standards to perform pole loading analysis and ensure safe, code-compliant aerial utility designs. ? Identify and maintain accurate records of existing telecommunication and electric utility infrastructure and equipment within designated software and document management systems. ? Review and correct data integrity errors within GIS and related databases to ensure accuracy and completeness of design deliverables. ? Navigate (in vehicle and on foot) through various terrains and weather conditions utilizing maps, GPS, and other navigation tools. ? Drive, operate, and maintain a company vehicle in a variety of terrains and surfaces; ensure proper care and routine inspection of assigned vehicles and equipment. ?
