When a major U.S. healthcare and health services organization needed to build a critical prior authorization program, Insight Global saw an opportunity to do more than deliver talent. We helped transform the hiring model itself, creating a faster, more focused approach built for enterprise scale.
The Client
The client is a major U.S. healthcare and health services organization with operations covering health benefits, pharmacy services, care delivery, healthcare technology, and other health solutions.
The Challenge
Insight Global had worked with the organization as a vendor since 2012, but in 2026, we were awarded this longstanding prior authorization program for the first time and selected as its exclusive talent partner.
This program supports members navigating medication coverage and requires specialized pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who can operate effectively in a complex, highly regulated healthcare environment. It required Insight Global to build a workforce of 775 pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, but volume wasn’t the only challenge.
Historically, our client’s hiring teams received thousands of resumes, many of which went unreviewed. With large hiring classes to fill, the client needed healthcare workforce solutions that could reduce the burden on hiring managers while moving qualified candidates through the process faster.
The Solution
Insight Global developed healthcare workforce solutions around the specific needs of the program, redesigning the recruiting and interview process to create a more focused approach.
Instead of overwhelming hiring managers with candidate volume, our recruiting teams created a more targeted pipeline of qualified pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Then we took greater ownership of moving those candidates from recruiting through selection.
Through a go-to-work (GTW) model, Insight Global assumed responsibility for interviewing candidates and making hiring decisions on the client’s behalf. Rather than requiring every candidate to interview directly with a client hiring manager, our team conducted group interviews and applied our understanding of the program to determine who was best positioned to perform the work.
That shift helped create a faster, more efficient hiring process while giving the client’s leaders time back to focus on the operation itself.
How We Changed the Game
The biggest impact wasn’t the number of people we recruited. It was the level of responsibility the client trusted us to own. High-volume hiring can easily become a numbers game: more openings generate more candidates, more resumes, and more interviews.
Insight Global took a different approach.
By earning the authority to make hiring decisions on the client’s behalf, Insight Global moved the relationship beyond traditional candidate sourcing and placement. Our team took ownership of an important part of the client’s hiring operation, using our recruiting expertise and program knowledge to make decisions at the pace the business required.
For the client, that meant less hiring friction, less time spent reviewing and interviewing candidates, and a more efficient way to move qualified professionals through the hiring process.
Outcomes and Impacts
The program demonstrates what targeted recruiting and greater delivery ownership can accomplish at enterprise scale:
- 775 pharmacists and pharmacy technicians supporting the final program requirement
- 92 Net Promoter Score (NPS), an exceptionally high, world-class result that reflects the strength of the consultant experience. NPS measures willingness to recommend an organization, so a 92 signals that the workforce wasn’t just successfully placed at scale. Consultants were highly willing to recommend working with Insight Global based on their experience.
- 9 percent candidate back-out rate across this hiring initiative
- Exclusive talent partnership for the prior authorization program
- Reduced hiring-manager burden and a more efficient hiring process, with Insight Global handling candidate interviews and selection so client leaders could spend less time on high-volume hiring and more time focused on the operation.
- A more targeted recruiting model designed to replace thousands of resumes with a more focused candidate pipeline
The Insight Global Difference
Our talent expertise gives us visibility into how work gets staffed, how candidates move through a hiring process, and where enterprise programs experience friction.
In this engagement, that meant moving beyond candidate delivery to own more of the hiring process and making candidate decisions on the client’s behalf. As the partnership continues to mature, operational knowledge also creates opportunities to identify where processes, technology, and new ways of working could make the program even more effective.
That’s how Insight Global approaches enterprise challenges: we start with the business need, bring the right people to the table, and keep looking for smarter ways to get the work done.
How We Did It
1. Built a specialized talent strategy
We aligned recruiting around the pharmacists and pharmacy technicians required to support a large-scale prior authorization program.
2. Focused the candidate pipeline
We moved away from a volume-first approach, identifying candidates against the program’s requirements before they reached the interview stage.
3. Assumed interview and selection responsibility
Through the GTW model, Insight Global conducted group interviews and made hiring decisions on behalf of the client, reducing the interview burden on client hiring managers.
4. Streamlined high-volume hiring
Targeted recruiting, group interviews, and delegated hiring authority created a more efficient way to move large groups of qualified professionals through the hiring process.
5. Stayed connected after placement
Our continued engagement with consultants helped support the consistent candidate and consultant experience reflected in the program’s 92 NPS.
6. Turned delivery knowledge into greater value
Working closely with the client and the people doing the work gave Insight Global firsthand insight into the operation and created a foundation for continued process improvement.

Our People Approach
Large-scale healthcare workforce solutions depend on more than recruiting capacity. The people joining the program need to understand the work, feel supported, and remain engaged once they’re there.
For this program, Insight Global combined targeted recruiting with greater ownership of interviewing and candidate selection while staying connected to the professionals implementing the work. The 92 NPS shows that even while supporting a workforce of 775 professionals, Insight Global maintained an exceptionally strong consultant experience.
Because when hundreds of people are supporting a critical business operation, how you hire them matters. How you support them matters, too.
