A client in the Pacific Northwest is looking for a Cloud Data Platform Engineer to join their team! This position is a full-time direct hire role that will be a hybrid onsite set up. In this role you will be helping this organization with their transformation as they move further into Azure. The technology stack that you will be working with in this role includes but is not limited to: Azure, AKS - Azure Kubernetes, Terraform, Synapse, Fabric, Data Factory, PostgreSQL, ETL, and more. In this role we are looking for someone who is exceptionally strong with cloud and understands cloud concepts and can work on the cloud engineering team and partner with the Data Team and has a strong understanding of cloud data platform engineering with data architecture within Azure. Required Skills & Experience
5+ years as a Cloud Engineer with a focus on designing, implementing, and managing a cloud native data platform in Azure
Experience understanding Data Engineering principals to support Azure Database Services, focused on PostgreSQL-based solutions, Synapse, Data Factory, and integration points with Microsoft Fabric to support and optimize Azure Data Services
Strong experience with SQL, query optimization and performance analysis
Experience with IAC: Terraform preferred, Bicep, ARM
Understanding Data Engineering Workloads (ETL, Pipelines, Large Datasets)
Understanding of CI/CD DevOps processes and release management
Experience supporting data platforms at scale in cloud environments
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience with Lakehouse Architectures and modern data platforms
Experience with streaming and messaging technologies: Kafka, Event Hubs, Service Bus
Scripting Experience or Development experience with: Python, PowerShell, Bash
Experience working in SRE or highly operational environments
