Job Description

We are looking for a hands on Manufacturing Quality Engineer to support a production environment at a small, tight knit site (~50 people) within a large aerospace organization. This is a production support–focused role that requires strong shop floor presence, solid quality fundamentals, and the ability to build relationships quickly across manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain.

Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Drive and support non performance / non conformance activities
- Work closely with inspectors and validate First Article Inspections (FAI)
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Participate in audits and quality system activities
- Not expected to be the lead facilitator for RCA immediately, but should be comfortable participating and contributing
- Support a manufacturing area with heavy production interaction
- Spend approximately:
o 50–60% supporting production (non conformances, investigations, floor support)
o ~20% customer quality interactions (including prep for Aerospace manufacturing customers)
o Remainder of time worked on audits, admin work, verifying FAIs, supporting inspectors, and helping with work instructions/design reviews

Required Skills & Experience

- 5+ years in aerospace (commercial or military)
- 3–5+ years in quality (manufacturing quality preferred)
- Strong ability to communicate across functions (operators, engineers, supply chain, customers)
- Experience with First Article Inspections (FAI)
- Experience in AS9100 / AS9100 based environments
- Corrective actions (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone) – contributor level is sufficient
- Continuous improvement exposure (ION / Lean / CI mindset)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- ERP experience (Oracle, SAP, etc. — any system is fine; will learn theirs)
- MRO experience as a Quality Engineer (HUGE plus)
- Understanding of AS9100 / AS9100 based FAI requirements
- Prior internal auditor experience
- Exposure to EASA or foreign regulatory environments
- Customer quality experience (Boeing or similar OEMs)
- Field inspection experience
- French language
- Comfortable reading and working from engineering drawings
