Job Description

Overview:
This role leads the end-to-end development and lifecycle management of non-embedded software systems, ensuring alignment with industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory compliance. The position partners cross-functionally to drive design, integration, and performance of software solutions within a complex engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the design, development, testing, and maintenance of non-embedded software across the full lifecycle
• Translate customer and system requirements into scalable software designs and architectures
• Oversee software development, integration, optimization, and enhancement of system functionalities
• Develop and maintain software architecture, requirements, algorithms, and interface designs
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues to ensure system reliability and performance
• Support end users by addressing inquiries, resolving defects, and analyzing feedback for improvements
• Drive adoption of emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and evolving regulatory requirements
• Establish and improve software processes, tools, and performance metrics aligned with industry standards
• Lead software R&D initiatives, including planning, execution, and documentation
• Provide subject matter expertise on software systems, processes, and compliance requirements
• Manage software projects and coordinate activities with internal teams and external suppliers
Monitor and evaluate team and supplier performance to ensure delivery, quality, and compliance

Required Skills & Experience

Must-Haves:
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 7+ years of experience across the full software development lifecycle (design, development, integration, testing, and deployment)
• Strong experience in embedded or real-time software development (RTOS) using languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, Rust, or Ada
• Experience working in Agile environments using tools such as GitLab, VS Code, or similar platforms
Solid understanding of hardware-software integration and system safety principles within complex systems

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Preferred Qualifications:
• 9+ years of experience with a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
• Knowledge of software architecture, requirements traceability, and design methodologies within regulated environments
• Experience with software verification, validation, and certification standards (e.g., aerospace or safety-critical systems)
Background in supplier management and/or project leadership, including performance tracking and delivery oversight
