Job Description

A company in Warrenton, VA is looking for a Red Hat Linux System Administrator to join their team in support of a mission-critical program. This Sys Admin will be responsible for the upkeep, configuration and reliable operation of computer systems in a cloud environment. They will help troubleshoot complex configuration problems and system issues in an environment that includes multiple servers, COTS products, NetApp and virtual machines. This includes installing Linux (primary) and Windows (secondary) servers in a virtualized environment, troubleshooting hardware/software applications and installation, performing OS upgrades, resolving network-related issues, and ensuring systems comply with government security standards. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, adapt to changing requirements throughout the program phases, and be onsite 1-4 times/month. This role requires an Active TS Clearance with SCI eligibility, or an Active TS/SCI.

Required Skills & Experience

- Active TS/SCI Clearance

- 5+ years of experience with hands-on RHEL system administration

- Experience troubleshooting complex systems (multiple servers, COTS products, NetApp, VMs, VDIs)

- Experience with networks, firewalls (Cisco ASA) and ACLs

- Experience managing virtual machines and infrastructure, including VMware administration and vCenter

- Experience with automation (Ansible, Chef) and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ruby)

- Working experience troubleshooting cloud platforms and working in a DevOps environment

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- RHCSA or RHCSE certification (highly preferred)

- VMware Certified Professional

- Data Center Virtualization Certification (VCP6-DCV)

- Experience with use cases, performance specification development and UML modeling
