Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a senior‑level, hands‑on data engineering professional to design, build, and operate data pipelines that extract data from Oracle Health (Cerner) systems and ingest it into Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role is critical to ensuring the Commonwealth of Virginia maintains ownership, access, and governance of healthcare data for analytics and public health use. This is a highly technical individual‑contributor role. The selected candidate will serve as the primary technical owner of Oracle Health → GCP data ingestion.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and implement automated, recurring data pipelines from Oracle Health systems into GCP central repository
• Build and optimize BigQuery-based data repositories
• Develop GCP Cloud Functions and supporting Python code for ingestion and orchestration
• Ensure data completeness, reliability, and cost efficiency
• Operate as the primary technical owner of the ingestion pipelines
The hourly pay rate for this role is $55-70/hr and based on experience.

Required Skills & Experience
• Senior-level experience in data engineering or data warehouse architecture
• Deep hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform: expertise in BigQuery & experience building GCP Cloud Functions
• Advanced proficiency in Python for data engineering and automation.
• Experience designing and operating large-scale data pipelines (recurring and automated data loads, incremental and full data extracts, error handling, logging, and monitoring)
• Ability to work independently and own complex technical deliverables
• Experience working with relational source systems (Oracle or similar), including complex schemas and large datasets.
• Ability to operate as the primary technical owner of a data pipeline, from initial build through ongoing support.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and comfort working in environments with vendor constraints and evolving requirements.

• Exposure to Oracle Health Autonomous AI Agent
