Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Senior Software Engineer local to Richmond, Virginia, with 5+ years of hands-on software development experience. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting scalable, high-performing systems, with a strong focus on API development and an understanding of Azure cloud services. The Senior Software Engineer will write production code while also owning solutions end to end, from design and development through deployment and ongoing support, and contributing to architectural decisions that support long-term platform scalability. This role partners closely with product, design, and engineering leadership to translate business needs into clear technical solutions and helps strengthen the team through technical guidance and performing code reviews. The pay for this role ranges from $65/hour–$67.00/hour, based on experience.

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a similar field, with 5+ years of hands-on software development experience, OR 7+ years' of professional software development experience
• Extensive experience designing, building, and securing RESTful APIs for high-availability systems
• Advanced experience with ASP.NET Core and related .NET technologies
• Strong working knowledge of Azure cloud development, including building and supporting applications in Azure
• Experience with cloud-native architecture, including microservices and containerized applications
• Experience implementing and supporting CI/CD pipelines
• Strong understanding of system design, software architecture, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
• Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases such as Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, or similar technologies
• Ability to diagnose performance issues, conduct root cause analysis, and deliver scalable, long-term solutions
• Experience contributing to technical architecture discussions and improving development standards
Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience integrating AI-driven workflows or AI tooling
• Experience working in microservices-based architectures
• Front-end experience with Svelte
• Azure certifications
• Experience supporting release engineering and deployment planning
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
