Job Description
The Project Manager II is responsible for initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and evaluating power Engineering projects in accordance with scope, budget, and schedule requirements. This role involves managing projects, subcontractor coordination, procurement, and client relations, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders.
Responsibilities Project Management & Execution:
• Oversee projects from proposal stage through initiation, execution, and closeout.
• Manage day-to-day engineering and design activities (partnered with Construction Manager for EPC projects), including budgeting, scheduling, and progress tracking, using KPIs to make data driven decisions. Verify project progress, support forecasting, and maintain thorough documentation.
• Develop and implement project work plans, defining scope, objectives, and evaluation criteria.
• Manage project engineering schedules and deliverables
• Monitor project performance
• Lead weekly meetings to discuss manpower, technical, staffing, safety, and equipment needs.
• Manage contract execution, change orders, and subcontractors.
• Document and analyze project risks and develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Manage and resolve conflicts and escalate issues as needed
Stakeholder Coordination & Reporting
• Serve as the primary point-of-contact for project personnel, clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Coordinate project deliverables, meetings, schedule updates, and reporting requirements.
• Prepare and submit weekly/monthly progress reports, billing information, and cash flow projections.
• Provide regular updates to senior management on project performance and financials.
• Attend site visits, field walk-downs, and client meetings as needed.
Safety, Quality, & Compliance
• Demonstrate a commitment to the company’s safety program through personal actions and monitoring project activities.
• Ensure entire project team adheres to safety and quality standards.
• Manage project closeout and warranty processes.
• Enforce compliance with company policies, industry standards, and ethical guidelines.

Required Skills & Experience
Qualifications Education & Experience
• Experience: 4–10 years in project management, with emphasis on Distribution power design/engineering.
• Scope: Leads medium to large projects with moderate complexity
• Leadership: Manages teams and stakeholder communications
• Skills: Strong proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)
• Certifications: PMP, CCM, PE, or similar credentials preferred
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management, or a related field preferred.
• Experience managing distribution engineering/design programs with staff of up to 25 professionals.
Technical Skills & Knowledge
• Knowledgeable in power distribution design and engineering specifications, proposals, and documentation for time/cost/labor estimates.
• Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, and electrical plans and specifications.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E, NESC and other relevant safety and construction/engineering regulations.
