Job Description

The Software Development & Test Engineer will design, develop, test, and maintain C#/.NET applications, automated test frameworks, and supporting tools within a mission critical environment. This role requires deep understanding of software engineering principles, strong hands on experience with C#, Selenium, Visual Studio Test, and the ability to work with legacy systems while contributing to modernization efforts.
The ideal candidate is a self directed engineer who can quickly understand complex codebases, build reliable automated tests, and support full lifecycle application delivery in a secure, compliance driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
Software Engineering & Automation Development
• Design and develop C#/.NET code, including automated test scripts using Microsoft Visual Studio Test and OpenQA Selenium.
• Understand and work within standard .NET web application and service architectures.
• Analyze and extend legacy codebases, tools, and technologies to support ongoing enhancements.
• Apply strong software engineering principles, including modular design, maintainability, and secure coding practices.
Testing & Quality Assurance
• Perform comprehensive testing of current and future software modules to ensure high quality delivery.
• Develop clear, well structured test cases, test plans, and automated test suites based on requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Execute functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing across multiple environments.
• Validate new features, enhancements, and defect fixes, documenting results with clarity and precision.
Defect Tracking & Collaboration
• Log and track defects in Azure DevOps (ADO) with detailed reproduction steps, expected vs. actual results, and supporting evidence.
• Collaborate closely with developers to ensure timely resolution and maintain transparent communication.
• Take full ownership of assigned testing and development tasks with minimal supervision.
Release Lifecycle & Deployment Support
• Support the full application release lifecycle, including build, deploy, test, and validation activities.
• Anticipate deployment challenges and proactively mitigate risks related to operational stability.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of release processes and engineering workflows.
Agile Collaboration & Customer Engagement
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily stand ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
• Work effectively within a cross functional team using Azure DevOps for work tracking and collaboration.
• Prepare and deliver demonstrations of new functionality to customers or stakeholders, clearly articulating changes and business value.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven ability to quickly understand and work with complex software systems, workflows, and architectures.
• Strong background in structured software testing methodologies and hands on experience creating and executing detailed test procedures.
• Proficiency with Azure DevOps (ADO) for test management, work tracking, and defect reporting.
• Demonstrated experience writing C# automation code using OpenQA Selenium and Visual Studio Test.
• Ability to analyze customer needs, learn new tools quickly, and contribute effectively both independently and in a team environment.

Required Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of relevant experience,
Clearance Requirement
• Active Secret or Top Secret clearance is required.

70-90/h
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Employees in this role will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package starting on day one of
