Description
• Prepare and revise key electrical project deliverables. Single line diagrams; Motor control schematics; MCC layouts and bills of materials; Cable and conduit schedules; Grounding and lighting plans; Hazardous area classification drawings; Wiring diagrams for junction boxes, PLC, and DCS cabinets; and Loop drawings and instrument installation details.
• Create and maintain engineering specifications, material lists, and construction documents in accordance with customer and industry standards
• Participate in the development and refinement of internal electrical design standards, details, and templates.
• Perform mid-level engineering calculations to support load studies, voltage drop, short-circuit analysis, and conduit/cable sizing. Assist in the evaluation and selection of electrical equipment and components.
• Conduct reviews of vendor submittals to ensure alignment with project specifications and application requirements.
• Remain current on industry trends, materials, and code updates relevant to electrical design.
• Ability to manage multiple project tasks while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
• Able to solve technical challenges with sound engineering judgment and attention to detail.
Designs with constructability, durability, and safety in mind, always adhering to code compliance.

Required Skills & Experience
Must Haves
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
• 8-10 Years of experience
• Professional Engineer License (Utah or Texas Preferred)
• Experience in middle to high volts
• Familiarity with electrical design and analysis software such as SKM PowerTools, EasyPower, or ETAP (SKM preferred). Familiarity with electrical design using CADD platforms (AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP, or similar) and ability to collaborate with CAD teams to develop accurate deliverables. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel for data tracking and basic calculations.
Industry Experience: Heavy Industrial Electrical, Oil and Gas, Chemical (refineries), or mining or minerals.
