Job Description

A top Engineering consultant firm is looking for an Instrumentation & Controls Design Engineer to join the controls department for a full-time direct hire opportunity. The candidate will be responsible for meeting with clients to help with control system problems. Additionally, they will be writing work instructions, specifying instruments, creating schematics with AutoCAD 2D, panel layouts, network architecture diagrams, and creating estimates. This individual will be 90% designing the instrumentation specifications for the customer and 10% hands on troubleshooting of the equipment. The ideal candidate will be able to identify the controls issue, be in charge of the selection of instrumentation or device, create a schematic and work instructions to give to client to fix the overall control issue.

Required Skills & Experience

7+ years of experience in designing controls (ex: system panels)
Experience working directly with clients to create work instructions and schematic packages
- bachelors degree in engineering
Strong understanding of controls systems
o PLC, Allen Bradley, Ladder Logic
Knowledge with IO loops
Experience creating drawings in AutoCAD 2D
Instrumentation specifications (i.e. Control valves, control meters, pumps, heat exchangers, tanks & agitators) need to be able interpret the data from the process team to select proper instrumentation for the client.
