Job Description

Responsibilities

The consultant will work alongside a nationally recognized Architect of Record (AOR) and a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR), while reporting directly to Owner leadership.
The role requires independent, commercially grounded judgment — someone who can constructively challenge assumptions, pressure-test value engineering proposals, and escalate risks early enough to support informed Owner decision-making.
Formal milestone-based deliverables are required at every major phase — Programming through Post-Occupancy.
The consultant must be prepared to remain engaged through certification closeout, facilities turnover, and post-occupancy performance review.

Qualifications

LEED certification expertise including credit strategy, risk management, and documentation on complex projects
WELL Building Standard Certified and experience with WELL certified projects and institutional ESG background
Bachelor's degree/advanced degree in Architecture
Experience supporting institutional, campus-scale, or multiuse development projects (1 million square feet+) with CMAR or alternative delivery methods
Direct involvement in VE sessions and procurement decisions with sustainability implications
The ideal candidate brings real-world institutional development and construction experience, not just LEED administration.
Ability to operate independently while influencing high-impact project decisions
Commercial construction knowledge — development economics, contractor procurement behavior, constructability, and lifecycle cost
They must understand contractor procurement behavior, VE dynamics, development economics, and the operational realities of long-term asset stewardship.

Required Skills

Experience with a LEED Gold Certified Building Project
Experience with WELL certified projects
High-impact advisory and project governance skills.
Ability to constructively challenge assumptions and pressure-test proposals.
Experience with milestone-based deliverables.
Experience in institutional development and construction.
Knowledge of LEED administration.
