Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Power BI Engineer to work onsite at one of their premier clients. This person will design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate will be a data specialist with a passion for transforming complex data into clear, actionable insights through interactive dashboards and reports. You will collaborate closely with various business stakeholders to understand their data requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Key responsibilities: Data modeling and analysis: Design and build robust data models, including creating complex data relationships and hierarchies. ETL processes: Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) from various data sources, including databases, spreadsheets, and APIs, using Power Query. Dashboard and report development: Create and publish interactive, visually compelling, and easy-to-understand reports and dashboards using Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service. DAX query development: Utilize Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) to build complex calculations, measures, and calculated columns. Performance optimization: Monitor and optimize Power BI solutions for performance, ensuring quick and efficient data retrieval. Data governance and security: Implement and manage security protocols, such as Row-Level Security (RLS), to ensure data privacy and compliance. Collaboration: Work with business analysts, data engineers, and other stakeholders to gather and refine reporting requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for data flows, models, and technical specifications.

Compensation: $17.00-$20.00/hr USD

Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Proven experience as a Power BI Engineer, BI Developer, or in a similar data-focused role; working with large amounts of data
Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including Power BI Desktop, Power Query, and Power BI Service
Experience with Power Apps
Strong knowledge of SQL for querying and manipulating data from various databases
Hands-on experience with ETL processes and data warehousing concepts
Expertise in writing complex DAX functions and queries
Deep understanding of data visualization best practices and data storytelling.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience with web connectors for data import
Experience development web pages
