Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Accountant for a growing construction-focused client. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, leading the month-end close process, and ensuring all cost allocations and journal entries are properly recorded. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in construction accounting, including job costing and WIP analysis, and is comfortable working cross-functionally with operations and project teams. This role offers the opportunity to grow into a leadership position, take ownership of financial reporting processes, and contribute to the preparation of financial packages for executive leadership.


• Prepare and review journal entries throughout the month
• Own and lead month-end and year-end close processes
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies
• Manage bank and credit card reconciliations
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and calculate depreciation
• Analyze loan amortization schedules
• Handle accruals, prepaids, and adjusting entries
• Review job cost allocations and ensure accuracy
• Monitor WIP schedules and analyze cost performance
• Partner with project managers on job cost reporting
• Assist with audit preparation and support
• Analyze financials and provide variance explanations
• Contribute to financial reporting and internal process improvements

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting OR 10+ years of relevant experience
• Strong experience with:
o Heavy journal entries
o General ledger reconciliations & discrepancy analysis
o Month-end close process
o Accruals, prepaids, and depreciation
o Fixed assets accounting
• Experience reviewing and analyzing loan amortization schedules
• Cash management & bank/credit card reconciliations
• Advanced Excel skills:
o Pivot tables
o Data analysis
• Experience with:
o Job costing & cost allocation
o WIP (Work-in-Progress) accounting
o Direct vs. indirect cost reconciliation
• Understanding of lien law
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain financial accuracy
