Job Description
This position is for a staff hydraulic engineering role for someone with advanced knowledge about mechanical and hydraulic components and assemblies. This position focuses on developing new products as well as sustaining efforts for existing products to support production and manufacturing engineering teams. This position can involve travel to sites for the support of new and existing products as well as direct interface with customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and document (using 3D CAD software) new components and modules for hydraulic meters and components
Conduct performance analysis to analyze flow, pressure and optimize accuracy
Select appropriate materials suitable for various fluids and operating environments
Fabricate, build, and assemble and test prototype components and modules to verify design, accuracy and reliability. Perform calibration and pressure testing
Collaborate with production teams to optimize designs for manufacturability and resolve assembly issues
Prepare technical reports, bill of materials and engineering change orders.
Support field service teams in troubleshooting issues at customer sites
Develop design verification test methods and review test reports
Ensure design meets environmental and regulatory standards

Required Skills & Experience
BS in an engineering discipline (preferably mechanical engineering)
Knowledge of:
Fluid handling components made from cast metal (sand cast and die cast aluminum and grey iron)
Deep understanding of fluid dynamics, material science and pressure vessel design principles
Ability to select, size and specify appropriate pumps, motors, valves, and filters
Fabricated and formed sheet metal parts
Injection molded plastic and elastomeric parts
Machined aluminum, steel and plastic parts
Proficiency in 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
Experience with electronic integration in hydraulic components
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience working in a manufacturing environment
Experience working in experimental/machine shops
Experience working on cross-functional design teams
