Job Description

* Review and approve contractor quality plans and procedure

* Develop Inspection Test Plans with contractors per project specifications

* Construction QC/QA - perform/witness required inspections of self-perform and contractor construction work

* Management of RFI/FCN/NCR processes

* Review and consolidate turnover documentation

* Identify and provide a path of resolution to technical field issues as they arise in collaboration with engineering, applicable contractors, and other parties as required

* Coordinate third party inspections as required

* Support development/review of project scopes of work, cost estimates, schedules, work plans, and resource requirements

* Evaluate contractor change orders and provide recommendations to project management

* Assist safety personnel with accident investigations

* Ensure all field activities are being executed per project specifications, procedures, and current design documents

Required Skills & Experience

* Degree in engineering (very highly preferred)

* EIT or PE is a huge plus

* 5+ years of relevant industry experience (heavy industrial, oil & gas, complex chemical plants) -- 5-15 is the sweet spot

* Previous experience on $200M+ projects, preferably with experience on both "owner" and "contractor" side

* Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation skills are a must

* Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications

* High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, and scheduling software (Microsoft Projects)

* Proven ability to identify field issues and propose efficient solutions

* Willingness to spend a high percentage of time in the field and to get hands dirty as needed to complete objectives or find the correct information

* Ability to work within a high-performance, cross-functional organization with extremely tight timelines and aggressive goal

* Background: construction/industrial/petrochemical/oil and gas

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Can come from a design or engineering background

o Open to a flex structural background!

- Structural steel focus
