Job Description
This individual will operate at the architectural level, assessing the current network landscape and defining the future state. They will establish standards, design patterns, and governance frameworks while guiding engineering teams through implementation. A large portion of the role will involve evaluating technologies, leading RFPs, and making vendor recommendations to senior leadership. They will partner closely with internal teams and external suppliers to drive modernization initiatives, improve network performance, and implement scalable solutions. Additionally, they will support complex issue resolution, identify root causes, and drive long-term fixes while advancing the adoption of automation, AI-enabled tooling, and network analytics across the environment.
Compensation:
$40/hr to $85/hr

Required Skills & Experience
Must Have
10+ years of enterprise network engineering/architecture experience
Strong experience across multiple domains: LAN, WAN, wireless, and network security
Deep expertise in enterprise routing & switching (Cisco ACI, SDA, or equivalent)
Experience designing resilient WAN architectures (MPLS, redundancy, high availability)
Hands-on or architectural experience with firewalls (Palo Alto) and secure access platforms (Zscaler, SASE)
Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable, enterprise-level network designs
Experience leading or contributing to RFP processes and vendor evaluations
Strong communication skills with experience presenting to senior leadership
Experience working cross-functionally with internal teams and external vendors
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Plusses
Experience in large-scale manufacturing or distributed enterprise environments
Exposure to automation and infrastructure-as-code (Ansible, Terraform)
Familiarity with network analytics and monitoring tools (ThousandEyes or similar)
Experience supporting or leading large network transformation or migration initiatives
Certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, PCNSE, or similar
Experience with wireless at scale, private cellular, DAS, or two-way radio systems
