Business Intelligence Reporting & Design Analyst

Meet with stakeholders to understand reporting goals, required metrics, and intended audience outcomes. Research how peer municipalities structure and present similar information to inform best practices. Define a standardized framework for how core metrics should be organized and communicated. Translate BI outputs into clear visual stories using charts, graphics, and structured layouts. Design and build a templated reporting package in Adobe InDesign that departments can use consistently. Produce polished, publication-ready PDF reports aligned with municipal branding and communication standards. Document processes and provide guidance to ensure long-term adoption of the new reporting format. Act as the bridge between data, design, and business needs—ensuring information is both accurate and easily understood. This role will be hybrid 3 days onsite.

Proficiency in Adobe InDesign to build standardized, reusable report templates and export publication-ready PDFs.
Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop (or similar tools) for graphics editing and visual enhancements.
Ability to create and document integration and reporting processes to ensure repeatability and consistency.
Analytical design mindset—capable of consuming raw data and envisioning how it should be visually communicated to best serve decision-makers.
Business Analysis skill set with the ability to assess existing reports, identify gaps, and recommend improved structures based on stakeholder outcomes.
Experience researching and benchmarking reporting practices from comparable cities or public-sector organizations.
Strong Business Intelligence background, including interpreting datasets and presenting insights through charts, dashboards, or grouped visualizations.
Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into clear, consumer-focused narratives for non-technical audiences.
Experience designing the layout and flow of information—understanding hierarchy, placement, and how data should be presented on a page.
