Job Description

Job Overview
Insight Global is seeking a Project Commissioning Manager to support large-scale power generation projects in the Odessa, Texas area. This individual will oversee all commissioning activities from project planning through startup, testing, turnover, and closeout. The ideal candidate will have experience leading commissioning efforts on combined cycle or simple cycle power plant projects and possess a strong understanding of the full project lifecycle within a power generation environment.
This role will serve as the primary commissioning leader onsite, coordinating with construction, engineering, operations, OEM representatives, and client stakeholders to ensure systems are commissioned safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project schedules and quality standards.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
• Lead and manage all commissioning activities for large-scale simple cycle and combined cycle power generation projects.
• Develop and execute commissioning plans, startup procedures, and turnover schedules.
• Coordinate commissioning resources including field engineers, technical advisors, subcontractors, and OEM representatives.
• Partner closely with construction, engineering, and project management teams to support project execution and successful system turnover.
• Ensure commissioning activities are performed safely and in compliance with site safety programs, LOTO procedures, and company standards.
• Monitor project schedules, commissioning milestones, and budget-related deliverables.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, FAT documentation, and test procedures to identify and mitigate startup risks.
• Lead daily commissioning meetings and provide routine project status updates to stakeholders.
• Manage punch lists, turnover packages, system documentation, operational logs, and commissioning records.
• Support performance testing, troubleshooting efforts, and final owner turnover activities.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the commissioning phase of the project.

Required Skills & Experience

• 6–10+ years of commissioning, startup, operations, engineering
• Experience overseeing commissioning efforts for combined cycle and/or simple cycle power plants.
• Ability and willingness to work onsite in Odessa, TX and travel as required.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience supporting major turbine manufacturers such as GE, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or Solar Turbines.
• Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP), ACP, or related industry certifications.
• Engineering degree or related technical background.
