Water Treatment Operator

Insight Global is seeking a Water Treatment Operator to support our clients Water Resources team in the Permian Basin. This individual will be responsible for operating and maintaining water treatment facilities, monitoring water quality, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring treatment systems are meeting operational and environmental targets. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in water treatment operations, a strong mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn and grow within a close-knit team environment.

Day-to-Day:
• Operate and monitor water treatment systems and facilities.
• Conduct routine water quality testing and track KPIs, including:
○ Iron (Fe)
○ TDS (Total Dissolved Solids)
○ TSS (Total Suspended Solids)
○ H2S
○ ORP (Oxidation Reduction Potential)
○ pH levels
• Monitor and adjust chemical treatment processes to maintain water quality targets.
• Operate, inspect, and troubleshoot chemical injection systems and chemical pumps.
• Support operation and maintenance of DAF (Dissolved Air Flotation) units and other water treatment equipment.
• Monitor and troubleshoot electrical and diesel-powered pumps ranging from 300-600 HP.
• Utilize company software and applications to document operations, inspections, and performance metrics.
• Assist with facility maintenance, construction support, and continuous improvement projects.
• Work closely with operators, leads, and management to ensure safe and reliable facility operations.
Adhere to all safety, environmental, and operational procedures.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimal 6 months experience
• Experience in water treatment operations, water handling, produced water, wastewater treatment, or a related industry.
• Knowledge of water treatment chemicals and chemical treatment processes.
• Understanding of chemical injection pumps and chemistry targets.
• Experience working with industrial pumps (electrical or diesel-driven).
• Basic understanding of water quality KPIs such as pH, TDS, TSS, H2S, ORP, and Iron.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software systems.
• Strong communication skills.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
Willingness to learn, take direction, and contribute to a team-oriented culture.

• Oil & Gas produced water or water recycling experience.
• Experience operating DAF (Dissolved Air Flotation) systems.
• Familiarity with SCADA, automation systems, or industrial controls.
• Water treatment certifications.
• Experience supporting water reuse facilities or recycling operations.
• Leadership or lead operator experience.
Experience working in the Permian Basin.
