A premier O&G operator in Houston, TX is looking for a Technical Writer III to join their Subsurface Engineering team. The Technical Writer will be responsible for creating a variety of high-quality documents, including weekly reports, newsletters, maintenance procedures, permit requests, technical papers, field development plans, concession proposals, and other technical documents as required.
Responsibilities:
-Develop clear, concise, comprehensive documentation that conforms to corporate standards
-Compile, format, and edit complex technical information into understandable, professional documents using the SPE Style Guide and corporate branded templates
-Edit abstracts and technical paper submissions and administer the in-house approval process
-Ensure that documents are completed on time and conform to the client's communication policies and standards
-Create tutorials and provide coaching to help colleagues improve the quality of their technical writing
5-15 years of experience in Technical Writing within the upstream O&G industry
Proficient in O&G terminology (specifically Geology and Reservoir Engineering terminology)
Proficient in MS Word
Bachelor's degree
Society of Petroleum Engineering style guide experience
Professional certification (e.g., Society of Professional Communication)
Photoshop & Adobe experience
