Job Description
An Insight Global client in the Houston area is seeking a hands‑on GenAI expert to work directly with Upstream Subsurface and Wells teams to design, build, and scale practical AI solutions that improve technical workflows, decision‑making, and operational efficiency. This role sits at the intersection of upstream domain expertise, advanced AI engineering, and product delivery. The successful candidate will translate real upstream challenges into GenAI solutions that are trusted by engineers and geoscientists, production‑ready, and scalable across the enterprise. The pay rate for this position will be anywhere from $102 - $112/hr based on years of experience.

Required Skills & Experience
Experience designing, prototyping, and delivering GenAI applications (e.g., copilots, agents, RAG systems) embedded in upstream workflows
Experience developing LLM‑powered solutions for tasks such as interpretation support, planning, surveillance, reporting, and knowledge retrieval
Ability to apply GenAI responsibly, ensuring solutions are explainable, robust, and fit-for-purpose
Ability to work closely with geoscientists, reservoir engineers, drilling and production engineers to understand pain points and opportunities
Experience translating upstream technical workflows into AI use cases with measurable business value
Act as a bridge between domain experts and digital/IT teams
Experience building and deploying GenAI solutions using Python and modern AI frameworks
Experience implementing RAG architectures using structured and unstructured data (documents, reports, well data, logs, etc.)
