Job Description

Insight Global is hiring a mid-level Quality Analyst (QA) to join their software configuration team in Houston, TX. This is a brand-new position within the organization, responsible for validating and testing software packages before they are released and delivered to end users. The QA Analyst will work closely with configuration engineers and software teams to ensure every line of code and every software package functions exactly as designed and planned. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented QA professional who wants to work in an innovative oil & gas technology environment with a global team.
• Receive software packages and deliverables from the configuration/software team and perform thorough quality testing and validation
• Review each line of software to verify functionality, accuracy, and alignment with original design specifications
• Identify, document, and track open and closed bugs using agile methodology frameworks
• Collaborate with configuration engineers and software developers to communicate defects and ensure resolution
• Participate in sprint cycles and agile ceremonies to stay aligned with development timelines
Ensure all software deliverables meet quality standards before release to the field or end client

Required Skills & Experience

• Mid-level QA experience — minimum 2–4 years in a quality analyst or software testing role
• Solid understanding of bug tracking and defect management (open bugs, closed bugs, bug lifecycle)
• Working knowledge of agile methodology — must understand sprint cycles, backlogs, and agile QA practices
• Experience performing software validation and quality testing in a structured environment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to review software systematically and thoroughly
• Must be authorized to work in the United States — no visa sponsorship available
• Must be local to or willing to work in Houston, TX (Atascocita/Lockwood Road area) — 4 days/week on-site, Fridays remote
Open to up to 25% travel, including potential international travel

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Background in industrial automation, oil & gas, or engineering software environments
• Experience with configuration management or working alongside configuration/software engineers
Familiarity with software deployment pipelines or CI/CD processes
