Job Description

Insight Global is looking to identify an experienced Pipeline Electrical & Controls Engineer to support product distribution terminals across its midstream network. This role is responsible for the design, upgrade, and support of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems at pipeline and terminal facilities. The engineer will act as a technical subject matter expert, working closely with operations, project teams, and vendors to deliver safe, reliable, and compliant infrastructure projects.
• Design and modify electrical, instrumentation, and control systems for pipeline and terminal facilities
• Apply NEC, NFPA, API, and other applicable codes and standards
• Integrate PLC, SCADA, and Terminal Management Systems with IT/OT considerations and hazardous area classifications
• Develop engineering documentation including control narratives, logic diagrams, wiring, and termination drawings
• Define technical scope and support project execution, procurement, and cost estimating
• Provide commissioning, troubleshooting, and PSSR support
• Evaluate vendor proposals and support system upgrades and modernization initiatives

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Controls Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 5-10+ years of industrial experience in electrical and instrumentation design for pipeline and terminal facilities.
• Experience within SCADA, Terminal Management System and DTN
• Experience with TLC (Top of line Corrosion)
• Proficiency in electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, conduit layouts, instrumentation loops, and PLC hardware.
• Experience selecting electrical equipment for classified areas
• Ability to interpret P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams), electrical one-line diagrams, and instrument drawings.
• Expertise in hazardous location wiring practices, panel design, and PLC hardware

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
