Controls Business Development Manager

Insight Global is looking for a Controls Business Development Manager for a premier mechanical construction & facility services company. This individual will build and maintain relationships with these clients to identify, develop, and close new sales opportunities for Building Automation work.

Day to Day Responsibilities:
• Prepares and executes business development action plans for Building Automation/Controls priorities.
• Develops business objectives and their strategies to support overall Business Unit revenue goals.
• Assists the estimating team with the development of Controls estimates, proposals and presentations and leads the presentation to specified clients and customers.
• Communicates the outcome of presentations and relays the specifics of client expectations and other considerations that will influence/impact project performance.
• Performs and manages industry/market segment research to identify potential opportunities and prioritize relationship building/business efforts.
• Meets with the client/owner to provide advice and planning on new projects to ensure the project gets off to a good start. Serves as subject matter expert for Building Automation System/Control system selections.
• Creates accurate conceptual budgets based off minimal information in real time.
• Leads the sales process through the procurement stage.
• May participate in business plan/strategic planning sessions for the Business Unit.
• Acts on input to continuously improve by perfecting existing processes and implementing new ones.
• Responsible for estimating new projects, change-order request and purchasing / buyout of Building Automation Systems/Controls.

• 5+ years of relevant experience as a Business Development Manager within the Building Automation/Controls industry.
