Job Overview
Hands-on AI Solutions Engineer to build and drive AI adoption across the client’s FTTP construction operations. This is a ground-floor role where you’ll own the full AI lifecycle—identifying opportunities, building solutions, and partnering with teams to deliver practical tools. You’ll work closely with operations, engineering, and leadership to support broader AI transformation efforts.
Day-to-Day
• Identify and prioritize AI opportunities across FTTP workflows (surveying, permitting, scheduling, splicing, QA)
• Design, build, and deploy AI tools and agents using LLMs integrated across systems (GIS, ERP, project management tools)
• Build document processing and knowledge retrieval solutions for contracts, permits, and technical documentation
• Automate reporting, dashboards, and data workflows using AI and scripting
• Monitor performance and continuously improve deployed solutions
• Partner with field teams, project managers, and engineers to gather requirements and validate outputs
• Support AI adoption through training, stakeholder collaboration, and internal enablement
• Help shape AI roadmap, governance, and best practices
Maintain documentation and internal playbooks for AI tools

Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of experience building and deploying AI/ML applications in production
• Strong Python skills with experience working with APIs, SDKs, and cloud services
• Hands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) and prompt engineering
• Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, or document processing pipelines
• Strong API integration experience building cross-system workflows (OAuth, webhooks, etc.)
• Ability to translate ambiguous operational problems into technical solutions
• Experience working directly with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions
• Self-starter comfortable building solutions from scratch in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Telecommunications, utilities, or construction industry experience (especially FTTP / fiber deployments)
• Experience with GIS or geospatial data
• Familiarity with fiber construction lifecycle (survey → design → build → test)
• Experience with workflow automation tools (n8n, Make, Power Automate) or AI frameworks (LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen)
• Cloud platform experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
Data engineering fundamentals (ETL, SQL, data warehousing)
