Job Description

Overview:
Insight Global is seeking a Mid-Level Water Supply Engineer to join one of our largest engineering consulting clients in Austin, Texas. This individual will support the company's rapidly growing commercial water business and serve as both a technical leader and client-facing project manager. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience within the water supply industry, strong knowledge of Texas water planning initiatives, and a proven ability to manage engineering projects from proposal through execution. This role will have significant responsibility for client engagement, project delivery, quality assurance, and coordination across multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Day to Day:
• Interface directly with clients to identify project needs and develop engineering solutions
• Prepare scopes of work, project budgets, and schedules for water supply projects
• Lead client meetings and provide updates on project progress and deliverables
• Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering and design teams
• Review engineering deliverables and perform quality control reviews
• Monitor project budgets, schedules, and overall project performance
• Oversee preparation of permit applications and regulatory documentation
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies regarding water supply requirements and approvals
• Interface with vendors, contractors, equipment suppliers, and subcontractors
• Review bid packages and provide recommendations for contract awards
• Support proposal development and preparation of engineering work orders
• Visit project sites and client offices as needed throughout the project lifecycle
• Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and according to client expectations

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering
• Active Professional Engineering (PE) License
• 10+ years of experience planning, designing, and managing water supply projects
• Experience managing engineering projects including budget, schedule, scope, and client communication
• Knowledge of environmental regulations, water laws, and compliance requirements
• Experience with Texas Regional Water Planning or similar state-level water planning initiatives
• Experience interacting directly with clients to develop scopes of work, budgets, and project execution plans
• Strong communication skills with experience conducting presentations, leading meetings, and preparing technical reports
• Ability to travel to project sites and client offices as needed (less than 30%)
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering and design teams

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Previous consulting engineering experience
• Existing relationships with municipal, utility, or regional water clients throughout Texas
• Experience leading proposal development and business development initiatives
• Experience overseeing permitting efforts for water supply projects
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Previous mentorship or leadership experience overseeing junior engineers
